Grab a booster jab to protect those you care for this winter

Over the next week, opening hours for vaccine centres will be extended and many more appointments will be made available at both existing and new local vaccination centres.

The NHS is now urging anyone aged 18 or over not to delay getting their booster in the run up to the Christmas break.

Those currently eligible are people who had their second COVID-19 vaccine at least three months ago, and are:

  • Aged 18 and over
  • Aged 16 and over with a health condition that puts them at high risk from COVID-19
  • Frontline health or social care workers

In addition, many children and young people are also eligible, including those who are:

  • Aged 12-15 who still need a first dose
  • Aged 12-15 who had their first dose at least three months ago due a second dose
  • Clinically vulnerable or live with a family member who is immuno-supressed if they had a first dose at least weeks ago, now due a second dose

The best way to get your booster quickly is by booking an appointment online now at www.nhs.uk/covidvaccine or by calling 119.

Primary Care Networks (groups of GP practices) are also inviting registered patients to attend local vaccination sites via local booking systems. This will be via text, letter or phone call.

If the system is very busy or you can’t find any suitable appointment slots close to here you live, please keep checking back as more appointments are being made available all the time.

Alternatively, if you are happy to turn up and queue for a little bit, you can also search by postcode for your nearest local drop-in clinic on the NHS booking system too.

Or you can find a list of additional local pop-up clinics taking place in Liverpool on certain days over December here too.

In addition, there is also a vaccination clinic running at Alder Hey Children’ Hospital for children, young people and families to access. It’s open daily between 8.30am-7.30pm from Thursday 16th December to Thursday 23rd December.
